As the Chinese continue to get better and better at modern yet efficient manufacturing methods, the advantages of off-shore production become obvious.
I spent seven months in Song Gang setting up the manufacture of electronic fluorescent ballasts. The effort considered sheet metal, printed circuit board assembly, production adjustments, production test and Quality procedures. Considerable effort was also expended to assure the build did not compromise FCC and UL compliance. The final product was also “burned in” to reduce initial component/manufacturing fallout.
I can radically diminish the time required to get effective production thereby saving both startup costs and time to market.
